Luke 6:45 "For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of."

From a Tree's Point of View

John Smith

There it stands. The beautiful green pine sways in the wind as it watches and remembers. It remembers the young boys and girls that would play under its branches. It remembers the couples that would sit and talk for hours on end in its cool shadows. It remembers the lonely winter nights when it would stand waiting for people to inhabit the beautiful outdoors once again. It remembers all the beautiful spring mornings it stood under. It sways happily as it remembers that wonderful smell of rain that brings growth to its lovely needles. Day after day, it stands there watching the lovely world around it, happily affecting life in a truly gorgeous way. Young birds hatch among its branches. Children play all around it. People walk past it on their way to work, school, or some other daily activity taking its natural beauty for granted. You may wonder why it does not resent this lack of appreciation, but it knows that one day, when it falls to the earth below, all those living things below will remember every time they walked past it or played under its vibrant, green branches. Young couples will remember those special conversations they enjoyed in each other’s company under the canopy of its branches. One day, people will sigh as they look at that gap in the sky where those majestic branches used to complement the pale blue sky. Someday, a new sapling will be planted in its place so that the lonely hole might be filled once again. And once again, a story will unfold on the earth beneath those happy green branches.
